In this webinar, ITTIA is joined by Toradex to demonstrate how—with the right database software and System on Module hardware—devices accumulate data from sensors and make sense of a large data collection. When an innovative new technology becomes available, decision-making always starts out centralized, but as the technology matures and becomes miniaturized, a distributed approach has great benefits. With sensors that can be installed anywhere, Internet of Things devices are able to collect and communicate data gathered from all over the world. A system architect's first impulse is to create centralized cloud services to monitor these sensors, make decisions, and take action. This works well when you have one or two devices in a given place, a home or a business, but the real innovation will come when there are hundreds or thousands of individual devices, all trying to communicate at once.
