Modern Embedded Systems Data Monitoring, Analytics, and Storage

Come join our latest Live Workshop, where you will practice and learn how to make your next data driven embedded IoT device.

Description

Strong device real-time data processing and data management skills are required for building embedded systems to understand IoT data. Mission-critical Internet of Things (IoT) applications built with MCUs and MPUs face many data management challenges, including insufficient memory, performance, scalability, and security. The right hardware, real-time operating system, data management platform software, and development skills empower manufacturers of mission-critical systems to design and build IoT devices to meet these challenges. Are you building an IoT device application for which sensor nodes must monitor, stream, process, and store a large volume of time-series data quickly and efficiently, in real-time?

Data management platforms capable to run on embedded systems require special architecture to optimize data digestion, storage, and security. While data processing and data management are some of the most critical components in building modern intelligent systems, you will learn about the availability of a data management platform and hardware to monitor, store valuable information, and secure real-time edge data. Embedded devices are able to deliver secure fast local data management, save bandwidth, and reduce off-premises data storage maintenance costs.

With ITTIA half-day online workshop, you will rapidly learn how to build applications for embedded devices to monitor, manage and secure real-time sensor data at the edge. You will experience how your device application can accomplish low latency and high throughput and learn the data analysis and data management options to take on a major IoT-related computing responsibility.

Prerequisites

  • Access to internet and required equipment to attend the session online
  • Basic familiarity with fundamental database, C and C++ programming languages
  • Familiarity with embedded and MCU/MPU devices characteristics
  • You will receive an ITTIA DB evaluation license for the workshop

Objectives

Attendees will be introduced to a global leading IoT data management platform to processes and secure edge data. They will quickly be introduced to data management and data processing challenges and learn important options for countering them. They will learn how to:

  • Silently embed an intelligent IoT data management platform to monitor, process, and manage embedded data
  • Ingest data from multiple time series sources onto flash media at a high rate
  • Minimize RAM, code, and storage media footprint
  • Query from individual series and export from all series at once
  • Store and secure data at the edge

Agenda

ITTIA provides a hybrid embedded database system with less administrative overhead and a small memory footprint but with robust features. ITTIA DB is suited for mission-critical embedded systems because to a number of characteristics. Our goal is to rapidly empower you to learn and experience both data processing and data management required for modern embedded systems.

First Section: How to Modernize Embedded Data Management Capabilities

  • A dual hybrid time series database engine characteristic
  • Process live IoT sensor data in real-time
  • Advanced data analysis and management security features
  • A typical use case study
  • Major benefits of ITTIA DB for embedded platforms

Second Section: Real-time Data Streaming & Analytics

  • Combine, aggregate, and downsample real-time data on demand
  • Simulate and store data originating from multiple sensors
  • Query individual sensors to graph and analyze over any time range
  • Export stored data, ordered by time, in various formats: CSV, JSON, XML
  • Benchmark report: ingestion rate, query read latency, export throughput

Third Section: Remote Sensing, Preventive Maintenance, and Forecasting

  • Design complex queries to concurrently process time-series data
  • Monitor real-time data on STM32 (MCU) and i.MX8 (MPU)
  • Manage throughput and latency to accelerate performance
  • Use streams, time series, and tables to process data
  • Build a streaming app on embedded systems

Fourth Section: Prerequisites for Securing Embedded Data, at Rest and Transit

  • Importance of embedded devices security
  • Benefits of Conformant to the Principles of IEC/ISO 62443
  • Deploy encryption and authentication
  • ITTIA Security Agent – DB SEAL
  • Secure multitasking/multithreading
