ITTIA’s Ittialogy technology recently allowed Clegg Industries to unlock data in its Inter-Tel AXXESS call center application, enabling the company to improve its sales processes.
Clegg Industries, a leading manufacturer of specialty illuminated marketing and merchandising tools, invested in the Inter-Tel AXXESS advanced phone system to support sales and other key business functions. But although AXXESS offered call accounting features, Clegg Industries found it needed additional data from the system’s embedded database to analyze call center operations.
In order to use its preferred reporting and analysis tools, the company needed system support for the Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) standard. At first, there appeared to be two choices: Clegg Industries could undertake a complex upgrade to a new, ODBC-compliant version of AXXESS, or it could move to an entirely new application that provided the capability. Both alternatives would subject the company to high costs and business disruption.
But Clegg Industries discovered a third option—gaining ODBC access through ITTIA’s Ittialogy data access and management software. Ittialogy offered the benefit of leaving Clegg Industries’ call center intact and operating, while adding seamless ODBC access to the embedded data store. What’s more, ITTIA offered a free test drive of its proven Ittialogy ODBC driver.
Within minutes of installing Ittialogy, Clegg Industries had extracted pertinent information from the phone system database, retrieving more than 1 million call records and summarizing them using the company’s preferred ODBC reporting tools. With this information, the company’s management can analyze call patterns and optimize sales efforts by pinpointing strengths and needs within their processes, according to CTO Jim Longely.
“ITTIA’s Ittialogy worked superbly. The software installed easily, and I was reading my telephone system database as though it offered native ODBC capabilities. Ittialogy saved us the cost of new system software, and did its job without any disruption of our live call center,” Longely said.
