June 14, 2004 — Bellevue, WA — Greg Mendakiewicz, a specialist in the telecom industry, is the latest to discover the power and ease of use of ITTIA software. Here is his story, in his own words.
"I was asked to help with transferring data stored by an application designed for registering telecommunication equipment, in order to allow integration of all data stored by different applications with different standards into one database system. This approach would save costs for maintaining the data and reduce the time needed to prepare reports utilizing data from different sources."
"This application used an embedded database system based on Birdstep Raima Database Manager. In the application, there was no option to export the data from the program into a commonly supported format like XML or plain text. What was worse, the company that produced this application was no longer operating on the market."
"The first considered method of transferring the data was developing our own C++ program that would be able to operate directly on the data files. This idea was very quickly abandoned, first of all because of time needed to familiarize ourselves with the RDM* files and developing the application; second of all because of the high cost of this operation."
"The second considered method was to use a third-party application to deal with the data. Our choice was ITTIA’s ODBC driver. The clear and simple interface accompanied with the concise manual made it possible to finish the data transfer within 5 minutes of installing the driver! We used Microsoft Access as the ODBC client and the data was saved in plain text files that could be easily imported by other database systems."
"Using ITTIA’s ODBC driver, a troublesome data transfer was integrated into the new database management system in a much faster, safer, cheaper and more convenient way than could be done using any other method."
Highly skilled professionals are touting the benefits of ITTIA's software and solutions at organizations such as Glaxo Smith Kline, a world leader in pharmaceuticals; PERQ/HCI, the premiere pharmaceutical industry market research firm; Ohio State University, one of the United States most recognizable universities; Moody's Risk Management Services, a trusted provider of business services; Marconi, a world leader in radio-frequency systems and communication and many others.
